Protecting Your Damascus: Because these blades are high-carbon steel (the "Smoke"), they require a little more love than cheap stainless steel. After use, rinse with clean water and dry immediately. Apply a light coat of mineral oil or beeswax to the blade to protect it from the Fairbanks humidity. With proper care, these ripples will sparkle for a lifetime.
